Nepal Today

While the infographic shows many benefits of our efforts, the situation in Nepal is still one of grieving, rebuilding, and hope. We strive to continue assisting locals get back on their feet and are on schedule to plant 250,000 reforestation and agroforestry seedlings at the onset of the rainy season, which starts mid-July and goes through the end of September. The tentree and Eden Reforestation tree planting teams will have much needed jobs and income during the rebuilding of communities after the deadly earthquakes that struck on April 25th and May 12th.

Our project's leader, Ram, lives right in the epicenter with his two kids and eight foster children. He didn't even take time to grieve the loss and devastation around him. Instead, RAM remained strong and got everyone in his family to work, distributing food and supplies that he could source from the help of donors in Canada and the US.

While the situation in Nepal is dire, our reforestation nurseries (i.e. your trees) and our nursery employees were minimally affected by the quakes. These trees are needed now more than ever as people need food, fuel and lumber to rebuild. We thank you for your incredible support in helping Nepal recover during these trying times!
